Laurent Allard
His works, essentially in 3D, draws his inspiration from numerous historical, artistic and cinematographic references to model his universe, as kitschy, trivial and colourful as it is «grotesque». His dreamlike/subconscious creations, where represented objects are often related to childhood, are filled with hidden visual jokes, which characterize his unique touch. Attracted to classical painting, symbols and metaphors, the artist emphasizes everyday objects which become artistic subjects, and makes the viewer think to recompose the puzzle. Compositions almost always follow the same dynamic, a black background, a relatively dark atmosphere and a single light source coming from one side. The base remains the same, but everything else can change each time.
